Car to be at auction 8/16
russoandsteele.com/vehicle-details/

Auction description:
Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale August 18th - 20th, 2016 at Russo and Steele's 16th Annual Monterey, California Auction.

The frame-off restoration of this car has spanned four owners between 1980 and the present. From 1980 to 1984, Jim Knight had the frame and body stripped, de-rusted, two new front fenders added and then painted. He also had the engine rebuilt and balanced. In 1985, Pete Seamans purchased the car, bought a service manual and began to acquire parts but never began the assembly, selling the car in 1989 to Gary Dewey, who retained the Jaguar through 2003. According to his wife, he purchased the car and 6 large boxes of parts with the intention of restoring the car when he retired. Unfortunately, he passed away before he did anything. During that 13-year period, the car was stored indoors awaiting restoration.

From 2003 to the present, the frame-off restoration was completed. Highlights include:

New top
New paint
Original bumpers with new chrome
New brake system
New wiring and batteries
New interior including Kool Mats
New 185HR16 Firestone Cavallino black radial tires
All new gas lines, fuel pump, tank cleaned and sealed.
Original exhaust manifolds - new porcelain
Rebuilt steering rack
Rebuilt Clutch, master and slave cylinders
Waxoyl rust proofing
All bright work re-plated
Repaired radiator

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
