I possess a Shipping Advice Notice issued by Jaguar Cars Ltd that shows this car was shipped January 28/1959 from the Royal Edward Dock, Avonmouth aboard the steamer "Toronto City" bound for Jaguar, Montreal via Halifax. It accompanied another 'S' type OTS and 4 Mk IX saloons. The original colour was listed as Sherwood Green.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
