This 1953 Jaguar XK120 SE with Matching numbers was delivered new To Hornberg Jaguar in Los Angeles, CA, and found it's way to a garage nearby, where it has been since 1982 ! It has the 8 to 1 compression head, and all of the SE equipment found in the SE equipment letter dated September 1952, notably wire wheels, High lift camshaft, lightened flywheel, and dual exhausts and stiffer springs. It's a solid and complete car, it has it's top frames. The tachometer was replaced with a sun unit, and the trunk handle is missing. The engine is the matching numbers unit, both block and cylinder head, and it will require a rebuild, it does not run now. Clean California title in the company name.

This 1953 Jaguar XK120 SE roadster was dispatched to the US via Hornburg Jaguar of Los Angeles, California, in late 1952. Chassis S673347 is believed to have remained with the prior owner in Baldwin Park from 1982 until its acquisition by the selling dealer in 2026. Finished in Cream over Turquoise upholstery, the car is described as a non-running project that retains its 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six and four-speed manual gearbox. It is further equipped with dual SU carburetors and a custom exhaust system along with a Bluemels Brooklands steering wheel and aftermarket instrumentation. This XK120 SE roadster is now offered by the selling dealer in Fullerton, California, with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, removed soft top components, and a California title.

The XK120 roadster debuted at the 1948 London Motor Show and featured handmade aluminum bodywork over an ash wood frame until steel bodywork was introduced in mid-1950. This steel-bodied example left the factory finished in Cream with a Fawn soft top and was repainted at some point under previous ownership. The exhaust system has been modified to exit through the left-rear quarter panel. The removed soft top frame is included in the sale along with a worn canvas top and green sliding side curtains.

The body-color 16″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with older Allstate Express Guardsman tires that require replacement. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension with telescopic-type hydraulic shock absorbers as well as semi-elliptical rear leaf springs and Girling hydraulic rear shock absorbers. The four-wheel drum brakes are in need of service.

The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in turquoise upholstery with contrasting piping, which extends to the dash and door panels. The carpets have been removed, and corrosion is visible on the floorboards.

The banjo-style Bluemels Brooklands steering wheel has a worn rim and is missing the center cap. A Smiths 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges are located in the center of the dash along with an aftermarket tachometer, while Paxton Products auxiliary gauges have been added to the left of the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 19k miles, and true mileage is unknown.

The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six was specified from the factory with dual SU carburetors and rated at 180 horsepower in SE-specification. The engine does not run, and the selling dealer notes that it requires service.

The car retains a four-speed manual gearbox. The selling dealer notes corrosion on various underside components.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the factory colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.

The current California title lists the engine number—W69298S—as the VIN and carries a “Title Only” notation.
