The car was on ebay 12/10 represented as a replica. The seller later stated it wasn't a replica after all and has the VIN 677138. The car is dubious in my opinion, however this is the info from the ebay listing. Opening bid was $15,000. it received no bids. imcdb.org/vehicle_188047-Jaguar-XK-120-Replica.html
The car is in good condition. It runs, has a hard top, and removable windows. It has been in our family since the early 1990s, and has always been stored inside. Just had a tune-up and minor electrical work done in July 2010. This car has an authentic Jaguar engine, where most replicas have domestic engines.
Car is located in Washington State. I have a clear WA title, and can transfer it easily.

The build date of this chassis number is well after 1952. It appears to have a 140 front and 120 rear

What are you implying Mr Ingram ?
Looks like a 120 front end to me ?

Thicker and fewer bars on the Grille and a metal surround to the windscreen says 140. Admittedly the Front Bumper is pure 120. See pic of 676407 for comparison

Appologies stupid error: The windscreen is fine for DHC only the Grille is an issue. Please don't sue me

I would imagine that this a replacement grille . During the 70's & 80's a company in the US called JC Witney produced a replacement grill 'Suitable for XK120 & 140". These were often fitted to replace the weak vanes of the XK120.
Although it would help if people did not make derogatory comments on other peoples pride and joys.
People making ill informed comments can cloud and distort a lovely car.
The factory did not always get it right so I'm sure some obscure number spotter can get it wrong, maybe even more so. So better saying nothing.
This is not the place to 'take a swipe' at anybody or any car. Let people make up their own mind what's right and whats wrong,

Sellers description from above auction:
1952 XK120 Drop Head Coupe has lived in Washington State most of it's life. I can not find any rust on the car. The frame is in great shape. The car even has the original sills and shut posts. The soft top is missing, but the frame is intact. The car runs and drives very nice. It starts right up with the choke, you could drive this car home. This car is a lot of value for the money. When you can buy an XK120 drop head that runs and drives for $55,000 --- that is a bargain. 21k miles,
