Cosmetically and mechanically well-restored
This matching-numbers 1952 XK120 Fixed Head Coupe was stripped to bare metal during its restoration, and every component was removed and either rebuilt, restored, or replaced with factory-correct parts. Factory-correct headlights, PF770, were sourced to go with the original Lucas PL700 driving lights, and the rebuilt instruments and gauges work beautifully and are all connected to the correct cloth-covered wiring. Adding to its originality and mechanical correctness are the factory Bees and GKN bolts, the Cheney hose clamps, and the period-correct Michelin radial tires. The engine, gearbox, rear axle, brakes, and suspension have all been professionally rebuilt by Jaguar specialists, and they function superbly, making this car a true pleasure to drive. Supple English leather, Wilton wool carpets, and splendid wood trim make for a lavish interior atmosphere, and the addition of a stainless steel exhaust makes the sound of the inline six even more sporting.

First Year of this Sleek Body Style
Offers Enjoyable Sports Car Performance
The stunning English Silver coupe appears to be absolutely gorgeous in its execution and finish. All of the sheet metal panels line up at or above factory specifications and they appear to be laser-straight. This coupe is fitted with the optional fender spats, or skirts as we say in the USA, plus the stylish and easy to maintain disc wheels. Looking at the interior, the skillfully crafted steering wheel is the main attraction, but the wood finish on the dashboard appears to be as new, with outstanding natural patterns that work to frame the gauges. Seats are upholstered in camel tone leather with matching door panels while the floor covering appears to be of the finest wool available. Under the hood looks immaculate with the engine highly detailed including the alloy cam covers and even the SU carbs looking as new. Our consignor says this is the smoothest running XK120 that he has owned, and there have been a few predecessors in his garage. An outstanding car that has been seeing renewed interest from motoring enthusiasts around the world, the XK120 family was cutting edge when new and is cutting edge in style and grace today.

1953 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe Frame-Off Restoration, Matching Numbers Engine, 5-Speed, Disc Brakes, Power Steering
This 1953 example has been the subject of a ground-up, nut-and-bolt, frame-off restoration, and the results are outstanding. The paint, chrome, and interior are all excellent, with only a few minor blemishes throughout.
Under the bonnet sits the matching-numbers 3.4-liter twin-cam XK inline-six, the legendary engine that went on to power Jaguars Le Mans winners and stayed in production for decades. It starts, runs, and drives exceptionally well, and all lights and gauges are fully operational.
What sets this XK120 apart is a set of thoughtful, well-chosen upgrades that make it far more usable than an original-spec car while preserving its character:
Speedway front disc brake conversion from SNG Barrett. The XK120 left the factory with drum brakes all around. This conversion from one of the most respected Jaguar specialists delivers dramatically improved, more consistent stopping power.
5-speed manual gearbox. The original 4-speed Moss box is notoriously slow-shifting and has no synchromesh on first gear. The 5-speed gives smooth, modern shifts, and the overdrive top gear means relaxed highway cruising at lower RPM.
EZ Electric Power Steering. The system is silent and completely maintenance-free. It transforms low-speed maneuvering and parking, where the XK120s heavy steering is otherwise a workout, without dulling the cars road feel at speed.
Upgraded aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan. It keeps temperatures in check in traffic and on hot days, a common weak point for these cars in stock form.
This is a beautifully restored, matching-numbers engine XK120 coupe that combines timeless 1950s British style with the reliability and drivability to use it as intended. Its ready to show, drive, and enjoy.
