Available from the wide-ranging and prominent collection of a private collector, where it has received expert care, this is perhaps the purest form of the XK. The Jaguar presents in British Racing Green with chrome wire wheels, beautifully offset by a tan leather interior. This left-hand-drive example dates from toward the end of the 1954 production run, and is built to the higher-power SE specification. In 2004, a full restoration was carried out, and since then the XK120 Roadster has been enjoyed sparingly, covering a few hundred miles each year and, in total, less than 2,500 since restoration. Service records also show regular maintenance, such as fluid changes; new tires installed in 2013; and work to ensure continued drivability. The driver's seat was adjusted for rake and re-cushioned, the transmission linkage adjusted, and a new brake master cylinder fitted.

The clean lines of the roadster, its SE specification, and the attractive color combination set this car apart. The documented excellent care it has received makes it a particularly appealing example.

This 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE roadster was restored in 2004 and purchased by the owner 20 years later. It is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in British Racing Green over tan leather. Equipment includes a black convertible top, a split windshield, chrome bumpers and bumperettes, 16″ chrome wire wheels, dual SU carburetors, and Smiths instrumentation. This XK120 SE is now offered on dealer consignment by a BaT Local Partner in Arizona with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a tool roll, and a clean Oregon title.

Originally finished in Lavender Grey over red, the car was repainted in its current shade of British Racing Green and is equipped with a black convertible top. Additional details include a split windshield, chrome front bumpers, a front driving light, chrome rear bumperettes, and polished dual exhaust outlets. The selling dealer notes that the car has won multiple concours events.

Chrome 16″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 6.00-16 Avon Turbo Speed tires. A matching spare wheel wrapped in a Firestone Gum-Dipped tire is stored in the trunk alongside a jack and a tool roll. The factory suspension includes an independent front setup with telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers, as well as semi-elliptical rear leaf springs and Girling hydraulic rear shock absorbers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.

The cabin was reupholstered during the restoration and features tan leather seats along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include lap belts, a heater, a passenger-side grab handle, door map pockets, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. A plaque commemorating the Jaguar XK120’s 141.51-mph record run at Jabbeke, Belgium, is affixed to the dashboard fascia.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts centrally mounted Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles, approximately 1,000 of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six was factory rated at 180 horsepower in Special Equipment (SE) specification, which included higher-lift camshafts, and a dual exhaust system. The engine features dual SU carburetors. Photos of a compression test are also provided in the gallery, showing readings consistently between 110 and 120 psi across all six cylinders.

The cylinder head stamping F1765-8S is shown in the gallery and matches the engine number listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers, along with a build date of January 18, 1954, and dispatch to Hoffman of New York on January 25, 1954.
