The Appeal

The XK150 coupe is the 65 year old classic that you can genuine use. That’s exactly what the current keeper of this car does. It has recently completed a 1,000 km rally in punishing Spanish heat without issue.

That it can do such trips is down to the maintenance regime. He is an important Spanish collector and this car has been part of his collection since 2011. Throughout that time it has been maintained by his own mechanic in his own dedicated workshop. When not in use, each car is started and driven every day.

Finished in classic British Racing Green with black leather interior, this 1960 3.8L FHC is in fine, usable condition. It is not concours, but then perhaps you don’t want that from a car you can drive and enjoy. We are told that it drives well, starts easily whether hot or cold, and the Moss manual gearbox operates smoothly.

There is a large folder of history and the car comes to market with valid Spanish ITV technical inspection.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
