Seller's description:
Up for sale is my '52 XK120 OTS. This car has been in my family since 1967. My dad converted it to Chevy V8 power back then since the original engine was disassembled and many parts were missing (cylinder head). He did NOT butcher the car to install the Chevy drivetrain. It could easily be put back to original. In 2013 I purchased a full wiring harness from Painless and my brother re-wired the entire car with a new fuse/ relay box and very nice connectors throughout. I machined a new aluminum dash panel and put new gauges in. The engine is an early '60s 327/300, It smokes a little and leaks some oil. The trans is a TH350 automatic that works very well. The original 4 spd trans for the car (numbers matching) is included in the sale.
To my knowledge, this car has never been wrecked. There are two small rusted (repaired) places behind the seats, inside the car. When it was painted in the late nineties there was some filler used to fill some small dents, mostly around the front bumpers There was NO rust repaired on the body at all except the two small spots behind the seats which were simply covered by pop riveted sheet metal. This car was inspected thoroughly this past summer by a very respected and reputable Jaguar expert from Michigan. He was very surprised at how clean and solid this car is. The battery boxes, rocker panels, boot and the rest of the car are all original and nearly rust free.
It was originally a disc wheel car with spats. I removed them and ordered from Motor Wheel Service in the UK new, polished stainless (not chrome) 60 spoke 16" wheels and installed new Vredestein tires on the car 4 years ago. There is a top that goes with the car. Dad put on a new tan (biscuit) canvas top from XKs Unlimited on the restored original frame with new hardware in '96 or 97. It's not on the car now but IS included in the sale.
If you’re looking for a Concours show car keep looking, there are plenty of six figure XKs for sale here on eBay and some rusted hulks for 20-30K. This is an excellent daily driver and or great candidate for restoration. The color is 1956 Chevrolet Dusty Rose metallic. The body has some scratches and small dents from daily use. It starts runs, steers & stops great and you can jump in it and drive to dinner anytime you want. It's nice and quiet with a smooth sound. A lot of folks won't even know there's a Chevy V8 under the bonnet. You may even surprise some friends with the way it pulls away from a stop light. I know this car like the back of my hand it's been in my family. (53+ years)

I was going to buy this beauty in 2020 before it was listed on eBay because it was my favorite originally my color combination: Silver with Duo-tone Blue seats - fabulous livery! I did not buy it but looked it over very carefully. The brass data plate is original and says the engine has an "A" prefix which was a mis-stamping at the factory. "A" code engines were for same year in production Mark VII saloons so I can see where the stamper could have made an error. If you look on this site at the cars immediately before and after this one you will see "W" code engines with almost identical numbers like this car had. This opinion was also shared by the Australian Jaguar historian John Elmgreen when I showed him the photos of the data plate. A great car but a lot of money to bring back to original.
